European Ideas and Identities – My EU-ID

My EU-ID is our current Erasmus+ project between BrgOrg 15, Vienna, Albertus-Magnus Gymnasium, Cologne, Lycée Jeanne d’Arc, Bayeux, and Eikeli videregående skole, Oslo. We want to establish a strong and binding European school partnership, and to encourage professional and personal relationships at all levels in our school communities. Our main aim, though, is to foster personal development for our students through identity building. With a strong focus on the negative aspects of nationalism, we also want to contribute to further development and strengthening of the European Union.

Our students will work with personal, local, national and European aspects of their own identity, and throughout the project they will actively reflect on their future as Europeans in the next three years.

We will run a different sub-project each year. The first year, we will focus on local and European history. The second year we wish our students to work with their present day local and European identities. The third year our students will explore their future as citizens of Europe. Key words are the labour market, educational possibilities, and a possible common identity.

A strong sense of identity will make social exclusion more unlikely and the future labour market of our students more accessible.

Stefanie Tausig.
